Job Description
The primary objective for the Regional Distillery Ambassador is to drive velocity within a prescribed account network of both off and on-premise accounts with a heavy emphasis on driving consumer awareness and advocacy through activation in existing accounts. Develop and maintain relationships with key retailers, on- and off-premise accounts and market influencers to drive velocity, educate, build reputation, and increase visibility of the brands. You will be expected to work with an entrepreneurial spirit and provide market feedback of successful activity and work with the broader distillery team to implement tactical activations throughout the future. Preferred locations for this position are California, Seattle, Northeast, Illinois, Colorado, Texas and DC. This posting is for 5 open positions.

Key Objectives:
• Drive velocity of Westland American Single Malt in prescribed account network per KPIs.
• Engage and educate consumers and accounts through Westland Distillery developed activations as well as development of unique activations that showcase your entrepreneurial spirit.
• Generate incremental sales volume through execution of activations for prescribed account network both off and on premise on both core portfolio as well as all limited expressions.
• Maintain detailed limited-edition pre-sell / pre-interest notes to ensure successful sell in/sell through of consistent releases of limited editions (Outpost Range, Single Cask, Various additional Limited Editions).
Account Engagement:
• Drive the relationship in list of top destination whiskey off-premise and on-premise accounts.
• Regular engagement of top whiskey clubs throughout geographic region (Classes, Tastings).
• Work with existing On-Premise network in prescribed account list to complete menu listings, gain cocktail distribution, execute whiskey dinners, regular staff trainings.
• Development of a network of key trade and consumer influencers in social media to drive traffic back to Westland Distillery and incrementally add volume to our e-commerce business.
Consumer Engagement:
• Increase consumer awareness and call through activation calendar with regular progress reports to Commercial Director & Marketing Director of Westland Distillery.
• Organize and execute Distillery directed consumer facing programs / events.
• Heavy emphasis on educating consumers on Westland Distillery American Single Malts through in store sampling, trade events and on-premise events.
• Develop consistent online activations and develop meaningful virtual interactions with consumers where they exist in your assigned geography and present to them virtually.
Other Responsibilities Include:
• Work closely with Commercial and Marketing Director of Westland Distillery to execute sales plan, activation goals and overarching brand awareness initiatives.
• Establish/maintain relationships with Whiskey Clubs / Societies, On/Off-premise account buyers at assigned accounts to facilitate increased depletion growth as well as adoption of new limited releases in a timely fashion.
• Management of personal T&E budgets.
Preferred Skills
• 2-3 Years of field-based sales/marketing experience in adult beverage/alcohol.
• Strong understanding and awareness of whiskey; commercial trends, marketing trends, consumer preferences.
• An engaging personality with entrepreneurial drive and a high level of comfort presenting in front of groups
• Impact and Conviction - shared passions and philosophy.
• Strong project management and organizational skills with an ability to work well and meet deadlines under pressure, keen attention to detail.
• High energy, progressive, free thinker with the ability to function autonomously.
• Excellent personal presentation and communication skills in all media, across a range of group sizes and to audiences of differing levels of knowledge and understanding. Fluent English required.
• Knowledge of the category (whiskey broadly) and Westland Distillery products in terms of history, key selling points etc.
• Excellent commercial awareness and selling techniques/skills. Sales experience required.
• Understanding of how pricing is built and the ability to work with top tier retail and on-premise accounts in developing meaningful commercial partnerships.
• Expertise with single malt whisky positioning and activation execution.
• Proven ability to utilize consumer insights to drive brand essence and positioning.
• This role requires significant evening and weekend coverage - it is a full-time role with non-standard hours.
